The Mingda Institute will arrange a variety of social and cultural activities to help participants understand American culture and traditions. Participants will visit American government agencies, organizations, businesses, communities, and families. In the Midwest, participants will tour places such as Lake Itasca, Native American reservations, Mount Rushmore, the U.S.-Canada border, and the Great Lakes. They will also visit farms, secondary schools, hospitals, national forests, and other places. Some participants may have the opportunity to visit Chicago, Illinois; St. Louis, Missouri; and other nearby cities depending on the specific needs of the delegation. Other places that participants may visit include some east coast cities such as Atlantic City, New Jersey; Baltimore, Maryland; New York City; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Washington D.C.; west coast cities such as Las Vegas, Nevada; Los Angeles, California; San Diego, California; San Francisco, California; the Grand Canyon; and the U.S.-Mexican border.
For training programs scheduled for a month or more, Mingda Institute will match participants with English language partners to improve their communication skills in English. They may also participate in a home stay with local American families, experience American daily life, and make friends with American people.
